Strong winds blow snow horizontally in Windsor Locks

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH)–News 8’s Jason Newton was by the airport in Windsor Locks where he showed us how the snow is coming down hard and horizontally because of the strong winds.

The winds have been relentless coming in at 10-15 mph steady with then stronger gusts more than that near the airport. Jason describes it as fine mist of a snow coming down horizontally so it hits directly in your face.

He also spoke with a plow driver who said he had a hard time keeping up with the snow and has never seen anything like this.

Residents are urged to stay off the roads so plow drivers could do their jobs.
