Bridgeport police investigating fatal hit-and-run

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport police are asking the public for help in their investigation into a fatal hit-and-run on Strartford Avenue early Friday morning.

Just before 1:00 a.m., police responded to the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Pembroke Street. A motorist called police after seeing a man laying in the intersection that appeared to be injured. Emergency medical technicians were also dispatched to the scene.

Police and medics located the injured man, and began emergency treatment. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m. The man has not yet been identified.

The Bridgeport police traffic fatal team has begun their investigation. If you witnessed, or have any information that could help detectives with their investigation, you’re asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
