Hartford man heading to prison for drug charges

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Vincent Nelson, 29, of Hartford has been sentenced to prison for distributing drugs and illegally having guns.

It all started with an investigation by the FBI targeting gang and drug activity in the city’s South End. Investigators say, starting in 2012 they made many undercover purchases of crack cocaine from Nelson and his associates.

Investigators say they found many guns, drugs, and thousands in cash in Nelson’s home.

Nelson pleaded guilty to the charges against him. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court on Thursday to 90 months in prison and another four years of supervised release.
