DARIEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two Norwalk men are facing burglary, larceny, and conspiracy charges after they allegedly stole more than $8,000 worth of tools from a construction site.
On January 22nd, officers responded to a home on Waldon Road that was undergoing construction. The contractor supervising the job reported that more than $8,000 worth of tools and compressors had been stolen.
Officers conducted their investigation, and reviewed surveillance footage from the home, including images of the vehicle used in the burglary. After a two week investigation, detectives learned where the stolen tools were being stored, and recovered them.
Darien detectives then asked Norwalk police for assistance locating their suspects. Norwalk officers found the two suspects, 26-year-old Elvin Ramos, and 38-year-old Wilmer Arias, both of Norwalk, in the area of Meadow Street, and placed both men under arrest.
Ramos and Arias were both transported to Darien police headquarters, where they were each charged with burglary, conspiracy, and larceny. Both were arraigned on Monday. They are both being held in lieu of $10,000 bond, and are due back in Stamford superior court on February 16th.
