(WTNH)– A lawyer for Bobby Brown denied the rumor that Bobbi Kristina would be taken off life support today, the third anniversary of her mother Whitney Houston’s death.
A rumor has been circulating across several media outlets that 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina would be taken off life support on February 11th so she could die on the anniversary of her mother’s death.
Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home on January 31st. She has remained on life support at an Atlanta hospital comatose ever since.
Three years ago, Whitney Houston was found unresponsive in an eerily similar way. She was discovered in a bathtub on February 11th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she died of an accidental drowning after suffering from a heart attack brought on my drug overdose.
On Tuesday, Christoper Brown, the lawyer for Bobby Brown, released a statement suggesting that the rumor that the family planned to turn off the ventilator on the anniversary of her mother’s death, is untrue.
In the statement, Brown said:
“The false reports that continue to appear in print and on the Internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time. In particular, the false reporting of TMZ, The National Enquirer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the (British) Daily Mail, citing police sources, family sources and Bobby Brown himself, will receive my attention. The desire to be ‘first’ has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy.”
They also noted that this is in fact a criminal investigation and “the integrity of that process requires silence.”
Dozens of media outlets have been reporting different updates on Bobbi Kristina, some saying she was already taken off the ventilator, others saying that her health was progressing, and attributing those reports to various members of the Brown family.
There has still been no information released of what happened or why it happened and police have yet to comment to the public of what they have learned in their investigation so far.
The Brown family has remained by Bobbi Kristina’s bedside. They also held a public vigil Monday night outside Atlanta, which attracted hundreds of fans and some members of the Brown family.
In a statement Bobby Brown said “we thank everyone that supported the vigil for Bobbi Kristina. “God is hearing our prayers.”
