Man Arrested for Impersonating a Cop

East Haven, Conn. (WTNH) – Police say a man was walking down the street, when a driver of a car carrying four people pulled over near him and then demanded to see the man’s license and registration.

It happened on French Avenue.  Police say Brandon Locke stopped his Honda Civic near Mr. Vincent Esposito.  That’s when Locke allegedly said, “I’m a cop, let me see your license and registration or else you won’t be able to drive.” It was at that point that Esposito took out his phone to call 911, but Locke quickly drove away.

A short time later, Locke returned and drove by Esposito slowly.  At this point, Esposito was worried about his safety, so he dialed 911.  Cops got the description of Locke’s car and tracked him down to the intersection of Prospect Road and Hotchkiss Street.

Locke was then arrested for impersonating a police officer.  He was released of $500 bond and is due in court on February 18.
