State Department warns against travel to Yemen

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The United States State Department is issuing a travel warning, urging Americans to avoid going to Yemen.

All this comes as safety becomes a bigger concern in the region. Officials are worried about terrorist threats and also civil problems in Yemen.

There are no plans for the government to evacuate American citizens at this point, but the United States is asking any Americans in Yemen to leave. The United States Embassy has already moved Embassy staffers out of the country.
