WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A West Hartford man has been arrested on child abuse charges.
Details are limited because of the age of the victim, but police say 21-year-old Steven Contreras is accused of restraining, sexual assault, and strangling a child. Police say they picked him up at his home on Crosby street Saturday, and that he knew his victim.
“It’s just so so sad and I’m so glad that they caught him,” said Linda Abel. “I hope he gets his due just; I really do.”
Contreras is being held on a $1.75 million.
