AUSTIN, TX (WTNH) — Whole Foods Market is recalling food prepared with a supplier’s ground cumin spice that may contain peanuts.
The spice does not declare that traces of peanuts may be found in it, so Whole Foods has had to pull the items that contain that cumin spice from its shelves. The recall affects Connecticut residents because it was one of the states in which this cumin was used in food products sold. The items containing the cumin in this recall were sold between January 14, 2015 and February 6, 2015 at Whole Foods stores in Connecticut. Prepared salads, seasoned meats, tacos and other seasoned items were affected.
So far no allergic reactions have been reported but the items have been pulled from store shelves. To view a complete list of the recalled items, click on this FDA link.
