Former Derby High School Principal arrested

DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) — Former Derby High School Principal Gregory Gaillard was arrested and charged with second-degree larceny Tuesday.

In December, Gaillard resigned from his position as principal. Derby police say later that same week they received a complaint from the Derby Administrators Association that they discovered discrepancies with the association’s bank account and that $13,200 was missing. According to police, Gaillard was the association’s president and maintained financial control of the bank account.

Police say Gaillard’s resignation is believed to be unrelated to the association’s complaint.
