Foul play suspected in disappearance of Hartford woman

SUDBURY, VT. (WTNH) —  State police in Vermont are actively searching for a Hartford woman, who has not been seen for more than three weeks.

The last time anyone saw 25-year-old Denise Hart, she was leaving a friend’s home in Sudbury back on January 25th. Police determined early in the investigation that Hart had was driving a borrowed 2001 Pontiac Grand AM when she left her friend’s home that night.

Early the next morning, police got a call about a car fire at the Cornwall Coverage Bridge. It was later determined that was the same car that Hart had been driving, but there was no sign of the Hartford woman. Since the discovery of the car, detectives have talked to several people who were in contact with Hart in the weeks and months leading up to her disappearance.

Police say there is strong evidence of foul play in the case and they’re asking anyone who was traveling in the area of Swamp Road in Cornwall to give them a call as they look for new leads in the investigation.
