Record Breaking Cold on the Way and More SNOW!

More record cold on the way!!! You must be saying “OK Kevin, how many more days until Spring?” Well funny you ask, the first day of spring is March 20th at 6:46 PM.  So as of 9:10 PM on Tuesday, we have 30 days, 21 hours and 36 minutes…but who’s counting? I wish I had some good news for you, but this pattern still doesn’t want to quit! Another arctic cold front moves in Wednesday night into Thursday and we could be looking at record cold temperatures again. The image below shows the forecast for low temperatures for Friday AM and Saturday AM for the shoreline.

18 Record Breaking Cold on the Way and More SNOW!

Our normal lows are 26°F.  Friday AM, the forecast for the shoreline is 3°F, if this plays out, it will come close to the record of 2°F, which was set back in 1966. Saturday AM is forecast to be even colder! Saturday AM the shoreline temperature is forecast to drop to -1°F, that will break the record of 1°F, which was set back in 1950! Inland is even more impressive, Friday AM the forecast is -5°F, this would also break the record of -3°F, which was set back in 1936! Saturday AM is forecast to be even colder, we are calling for a low Saturday AM of -10°F, which would destroy the record of -2°F, which was set back in 1972!  So it’s safe to say we have some record cold coming! Most of us will be sleeping during the overnight lows, so I’m sure you’re wondering what the day time highs will be! Thursday will be 13°F-19°F, and Friday, much colder 8°F-14°F! Saturday the temperatures bump up to 20°F-24°F but clouds will be on the increase, and then comes out next shot for snow! As of now it looks like a mix bag of precipitation for Saturday night into Sunday, but make sure you follow me on facebook or twitter as I always post the latest model information. I put together a cool graphic below that shows the chance for snow over the next few days!

17 Record Breaking Cold on the Way and More SNOW!

Wednesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Not the warmest of days but certainly better than it has been of late, a SLIGHT chance for flurries during the PM!! Thursday will have a better chance for snow showers especially in the AM due to the push of colder air.  There will be a few scattered snow squalls during the morning and afternoon that could leave a coating on the roads.  Just enough to make the roads slick from time to time.  I always post radar updates on my facebook or twitter. Feel free to like/follow me for updates! Friday will be a great day when it comes to sunshine, but it will be BRUTAL with temperatures.  As I said earlier, the highs will only be in the mid teens! COLD COLD COLD! Then comes Saturday and Sunday, these days will be the best chance for snow.  We are looking at a Saturday night into Sunday mess! Snow, ice and rain, we will get it ALL! I must have some good news for you right? Nope, the next two weeks look active and COLD! As a matter of fact, the NWS released their outlook for the next two weeks! Temperatures will be below average for the next 2 weeks! (Check image below) Thanks for reading and make sure to keep it here on for the latest weather updates!
