Truck driver pinned in Westport TT accident

Westport, Conn. (WTNH) – A truck driver had to be rescued from his tractor trailer after crashing on I-95 in Westport this morning.  The accident happend at 5:08 a.m. and closed the two right lanes of I-95 north between exits 18 and 18 until it was cleared at 6:14 a.m.

According to State Police the accident involved two tractor trailers.

Westport firefighters with help from firefighters from Fairfield extricated the driver of one of the truck. The driver, who has not been identified, was taken to Norwalk Hospital to be evaluated for apparent non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
