Anthem to send email on hack response

(WTNH)– Anthem is now saying it will contact you by email about identity protection and credit monitoring and the email will come today.

This comes after the company originally said to expect paper contact only. Now Anthem says due to laws in some states, it must send an email too.

The email will not ask for personal information and the only link in it will be for Expect the subject line to read “Important Message From Anthem, Inc.”

More than one million people here in Connecticut are at risk for identity theft after hackers got a hold of names, social security numbers, birth dates, and more.

Anthem is offering 2 years of free identity and credit monitoring to all customers dating back to 2004.
