Connecticut Dog Fares Well at Westminster

New York, NY – The Connecticut boxer we have been following walked away from Westminster a winner.

Maverick, a 2-year-old boxer, won Best of Opposite Sex. Begginer’s luck? Hardly. Maverick comes from a long line of boxers who have won various ribbons at the famous dog competition.

So what is Best of Opposite Sex? Each breed sees one dog awarded Best of Breed. This year a 2-year-old female boxer, Ch Mephisto’s Speak Of The Devil, won the Best of Breed for boxers. Since she’s a female, the opposite sex this year would go to a male boxer. Maverick took the prize, which essentially comes out to runner up of Best of Breed!

Miss P, a beagle, took the top prize, Best in Show.

Anchor Dog Nell is hoping Westminster will create a Cockapoo category so that she can enter the competition one day.
