Game of Pool Turns to Stabbing in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)- One person was arrested after a pool game turned into a stabbing at a New Haven pub. Police were called to Poor John’s Pub just before 11:40 last night, on reports of a stabbing. When police got there, witnesses showed them a car that was taking off, and police were able to stop it. Police say 64-year-old Willie Days of Naugatuck was driving, and had a cut on his finger.

After talking with witnesses Police say they learned Days allegedly stabbed a 55-year-old victim during a game of pool. That victim told police he had alcohol and drugs before the altercation.

Police say Days is a convicted felon, and was charged with assault in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit assault in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree and possession of narcotics.
