Men killed in Waterbury accident involving school bus identified

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterbury police say 24-year-old Jeremy Rucker of Naugatuck and 23-year-old Michael Maldonado of Waterbury died when their pickup truck collided with a school bus Tuesday. They say both men died of blunt force trauma.

According to police, Rucker crossed the center line on Watertown Avenue and hit the bus around 4 p.m., but why he lost control is unknown. No students were on the bus at the time, and the bus driver suffered only minor injuries, police say.

The accident is still under investigation.
