WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A mother and son from West Hartford are facing a laundry list of charges after police say they beat up their neighbor with a golf club, umbrella and a beer bottle.
48-year-old Sandra Davis was at her neighbor’s house last Friday, where they consumed alcohol and illegal narcotics. Police say when the victim asked Davis to leave, she hit the victim with a beer bottle and he pushed her out of the apartment. According to officials, Davis then went home and told her 19-year-old son, James Cotton, that she had been assaulted.
Cotton and Davis returned to the victim’s apartment, where police say, they confronted him, took his umbrella and hit him with it. They left and came back later waiving a golf course and forced their way in. Cotton is accused of assaulting the victim for a second time, while Davis broke his TV.
Cotton is charged with home invasion, conspiracy to home invasion, burglary, conspiracy to burglary, assault of an elderly person, robbery, larceny, carrying a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Davis was charged with home invasion, conspiracy to home invasion, burglary, conspiracy to burglary, assault of an elderly person, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
Both are being held on $100,000 and are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 26.
