No injuries in Plainfield school bus accident

Plainfield, Conn. (WTNH)  –  There were no injuries this morning when a school bus and pick up crashed head on in Plainfield.   In addition to the bus driver there was only one female juvenile passenger on the bus.   The driver was the only person in the pick up.

Plainfield police say the pick up driver, 45 year old James Rossman of Sterling, told them he hit a patch of ice as he was traveling westbound on Valley View Road at 6:29 a.m.  He then crossed the center line and hit the bus head on.  According to police the school bus driver, 33 year old Jose Antonio Cardona of West Hartford, told them he was attempting to stop to pick up a student when he saw the pick up going at a high rate of speed cross the line and hit the bus.

No charges have been filed.  The accident remains under investigation.
