(WTNH) – It was a week of celebrations, starting with the Chinese New Year Parade in New Haven. Many braved the frigid temperatures to welcome the Year of the Goat.
Henry celebrated his first year of life in Wallingford, while Heather celebrated a milestone of her own – her last day of chemotherapy.
The Hamden girls basketball team posed as champions, while the Wallingford Squirt C team smiled with their state championship medals.
This dad took daughters Kayleigh and Madison to a daddy daughter dance, while Sophy danced her way into second place at a competition.
Should we talk snow? If Matthew could talk, he’d probably say ‘no.’
Sorry, Matthew, but it wouldn’t be a February Report!t Recap without scenes like these…that remind me of my time in Alaska. There was rctic sea smoke in Westbrook, ice on the Long Island Sound from Stratford down to Norwalk and on the river Thames in New London.
Icicles were hanging down off houses in Northford and Norwich. Speaking of going down, how about those temperatures? They were cold enough to change the state of boiling water.
You saw -13 in Madison and Oakville, -12 in New Haven, -9 in Monroe and a mind-numbing -20 in Southbury. They’re enough to make anyone yearn for the warmer weather. Take a look at this guy raising a glass to the sun in Florida! It’s enough to make this snowman melt with jealousy!

While the humans were lounging, the canines were working.
Dude asked for his shovel and started digging. So did Charlie, who nearly shoveled up his friend!
Gio, Maddie and Mi were too excited to do any work in the snow. Moe in Oxford proved you’re never too young to get your paws wet.
The felines felt a bit different – or at least this one did. It did get rescued, and I think it will now be taking a cue from this bird and these dogs who are admiring the view from inside – at least until Spring.
