West Haven, Conn (WTNH)- A West Haven man wasn’t able to drive away with a car he had broken into because he didn’t know how to drive a standard shift.
Police say 25 year old Troy Matthews went into the Sam’s Food Mart store on Campbell Avenue late Wednesday night. Matthews then allegedly hopped into a customer’s car in the parking lot. When he could get the car moving, police say Matthews tried to make a run for it, but he was arrested a short time later by arriving officers.
Matthews now faces charges of larceny and interfering with police.
