Still no cause in fatal Middletown fire

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) – Fire investigators in Middletown say they are still trying to pinpoint the cause of a fire late last month that killed two people, and left a third person in serious condition at the hospital.

The fire happened early on the morning of February 28th, at 309 Barbara Road.  Investigators from the Middletown Fire Marshal’s Office, Middletown Police Department, and the State Fire Marshal’s office have been investigating but still haven’t come up with the origin of the fire.

Kim Crowley, 44 of East Hampton and Cheryl Micale, 36 of Middletown both lost their lives in the fire.  Police still aren’t releasing the name of a third victim who is recovering at a nearby hospital.  They will only say that name isn’t being released because of the “pending investigation.”
