NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH)– Connecticut’s flagship schooner, The Amistad, will be docked in New London this Summer for maritime festivities and educational programs.
A judge has approved a plan which will keep the ship docked in New London all Summer long.
The organization that operates the ship has lost its nonprofit status after failing to file federal tax returns.
New London is offering the ship free docking, as the ship can’t dock in New Haven.
Amistad is a replica of a 19th century slave ship captured by African captives.
