Washington D.C.(WTNH)-Some Connecticut lawmakers are trying to make railroad crossings safer for everyone.  Today, several U.S. representatives introduced the Highway Rail Grade Crossing Safety Act of 2015.  The bill would give money to states and communities to make rail crossings safer.  Representative Elizabeth Esty from Connecticut is one of the authors of the bill.

Each year, almost 270 people are killed at rail crossings, including the recent tragedy in Valhalla, NY.
