Social Media Threat Arrest in Granby, CT

GRANBY, Conn. (WTNH) – Granby Police arrested 18 year old Darien Beasley today on threatening and breach of peace charges. Police say he used social media threatening to shoot a student at Granby Memorial High School. Beasley was not at the school. But Granby Police found him at a private home in Granby. Police say there was no immediate threat to students.

Granby Memorial High School and the nearby middle school both went into lockdown after learning of the threat. Once Beasley was arrested, the lockdown was lifted.

Police say more arrests are possible.
