BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A 37-year-old Bridgeport man has been arrested for allegedly killing a man who had just robbed him.
Police say Karim Skipworth turned himself in Friday. They say he and Jose Lebron arranged to meet at Ogden and William Streets Feb. 20, where Lebron stole Skipworth’s money and phone. Officials say Lebron was fleeing from the area when Skipworth fatally shot him.

According to police, Lebron had a BB gun in one hand and money in the other when police arrived. They say Lebron had cell phones, one of which was Skipworth’s, and drugs in his possession and in his vehicle.
“Whatever the circumstances, a young man lost his life,” said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch in a press release. “We will not and we cannot tolerate senseless gun violence in our city.”
Skipworth is charged with murder, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $1 million.
