MONROE, Conn. – Monroe police responded to an accidental firearm discharge that sent an 11 year-old boy to the hospital Sunday.
Police say the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at a home on Partridge Drive.
According to police, a resident was securing his handgun when it accidentally went off, sending a bullet through the wall and striking the boy in the cheek.
The boy was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, but he is expected to be okay.
Police are still investigating the incident.
