Hartford Mayor remembers Kevin Bell in State of the City address

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra says the Capitol city is strong and only getting stronger.

The words of encouragement came during his State of The City address on Monday morning. Mayor Segarra also talked construction in Hartford’s North End, including the Downtown North project which will bring a new baseball stadium, a brewery, retail, housing, and more to the area.

Mayor Segarra also took a moment to speak about a recent loss the city suffered, firefighter Kevin Bell. Bell died during a fire on Blue Hills Avenue over the fall, and Mayor Segarra noted the State of the City address was the first time the city had come together since Bell’s death.

He’s up for re-election come November.
