Slopes of Connecticut great for all skiers

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — There’s something about skiing that puts smiles on most people’s faces. That was certainly the case on Mount Southington in the town’s Plantsville section, as a group of skiers with disabilities received some lessons on the outdoor sport.

The group is from Sandy Hook-based Advanced Skiers. The goal of the outing is to help the students become more independent when they hit the slopes.

“If we can give a student successful day on the mountain, we’ve done our job right,” said the program’s Executive Director, Joel Zeisler.
