Two men hit skateboarder and take off on foot

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Two men accused of hitting a teenager on a skateboard in Stamford are heading to court on Tuesday.

Police say 28-year-old Ramon Martinez-Urbina and 20-year-old Alejandro Estrada took off on foot but they were able to arrest them.

Police say the 2002 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling southbound on Willowbrook Avenue where the skateboarder was hit. The 17-year-old is in critical condition.

Martinez-Urban was charged with assault with a motor vehicle, operating under the influence, felony evading responsibility, and operating with a suspended driver’s license. He is being held on $500,000 bond.

Estrada was charged with interference with police and is being held on $25,000 bond.
