Hartford man arrested for assault

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- After over a month of searching for an assault suspect, Hartford Police have finally arrested Anthony Torres, 22, of Hartford.

According to police, on February 14, 2015, Hartford Police Department, Major Crimes Division, was assigned to investigate a serious assault at 158 Hillside Avenue. Detectives got an arrest warrant for Torres,charging him with Assault 1st, Criminal Attempt Murder and Criminal Possession of a firearm.Several attempts were made by the STF and Fugitive Task Force to apprehend Torres.

Finally, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, Torres was apprehended in Berlin, CT by the HPD Fugitive Task Force.  Torres was found to be in possession of narcotics and a significant amount of money. Torres is also a parole violator.
