ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Enfield Police say the person responsible for terrorizing the Hazardville section of town with a rash of arsons is now being held on a $1,750,000 bond. Police have charged a 16 year old boy with at least six of the fires and are looking at four more cases he may have started as well.
News 8 has learned that suspect is Davidson Izzo. Police say the most of the fires he’s responsible for happened between August 2014 and January 2015. They’re also charging him with an arson from 2010. He was first arrested on March 3rd and just last night was served four additional arrest warrants.
Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza spoke about the investigation at a press conference today saying “It was a lot of work, effort, and a tremendous amount of satisfaction that the people of Hazardville can sleep tonight without being worried their houses will be up in flames.” Sferrazza also spoke about those four outstanding fires they have yet to make an arrest on saying they have no information, at this point, that anyone else is involved. Those fires were set to two homes and two cars.
Izzo’s father spoke to News 8 off camera today saying he is consulting with a lawyer about his son being charged with these arsons.
