Wolcott hosts distracted driving awareness program

WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) — Wolcott police are behind a big effort Friday to end distracted driving in Connecticut.

Wolcott officers are hosting a distracted driver awareness program for juniors and seniors at Wolcott High School throughout the day Friday. Each student will be in a simulator that will record what its like when you text and drive.

Distracted driving for teenagers around the country is at an all time high, and the goal of this program is to educate students on the real dangers of texting and driving.
