Meriden official accused of falsifying a report

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A city official in Meridan is facing charges after police say she lied on a report.

Lisa Pippa is the city’s Director of Health and Human Services, but she’s now on administrative leave. Police say that Pippa claimed her office had been broken into and vandalized.

Meriden City Manager Larry Kendzior confirmed to News 8 that Pippa was arrested for falsifying a report with the police department.

The Meriden Record Journal is reporting that Pippa may have staged a burglary. The city has launched its own investigation.

If Pippa is found guilty, she could face up to a year in prison along with a $5,000 fine. Kendzior told News 8 he expects Pippa to resign, otherwise they city will begin termination proceedings.
