Sewer Line Repair slows traffic through Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – Engineers will be working to repair a collapsed sewer line Monday on Route 1.  Another section of the sewer line collapsed while they were trying to make repairs to a collapse that already happened several days ago.  The new area they are working on is smaller but will still affect traffic on that road.

Right now traffic on the eastbound side of Route one is down to one lane and two lanes are open on the westbound side. After 9AM however, both sides will be down to one lane. This is in the area near 468 which is near East Main Street. Crews will be making these repairs after 9AM in an effort to minimize the delays during rush hour.  Drivers may want to take alternate routes such as South Compo Road to Green Farms Road to Hills Point Road or the Sherwood island Connector. You can also use North Compo Road to Cross Highway to Roseville Road. The repairs are expected to happen into the evening hours.
