South Windsor man accused of punching woman

South Windsor, Conn. (WTNH)-South Windsor police say a local man assaulted a woman on Henry Road early Saturday morning and then drove away from the scene. 36 year old Rui Silva is now charged with third degree assault in the case.

Police were called to the house, after getting complaints from witnesses who said they saw a man punch a woman in the head several times. When officers got to the Henry Road location, they learned that the suspect had fled a short time earlier.

Silva was taken into custody a short time later. He now faces a charge of third degree assault in the case.
