Vernon police investigating double stabbing


VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — Vernon police are investigating what led to two men being stabbed on Vernon Avenue Monday afternoon.

Just after 1:00 p.m., police responded to 137 1/2 Vernon Avenue on a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two men suffering from stab wounds.

Police said one of the victims had serious injuries. That victim was first brought to Rockville Hospital by ambulance, and was later transferred by LifeStar emergency helicopter to Hartford Hospital. He is in critical condition.

The second victim was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital for what police described as “non life-threatening injuries”. Police have not yet released the identities of either victim.

Police tell News 8 that they believe all involved parties have been identified and located, and there is no danger to the public. They are continuing their investigation.
