“Lumber Liquidators” investigated for formaldehyde levels in flooring

(WTNH)– If you’re in the market for new floors, you need to know about a federal investigation that’s underway.

“Lumber Liquidators” is cooperating with The Consumer Product Safety Commission as it investigates the levels of formaldehyde in the laminate flooring that’s sold by chain store.

“60 Minutes” reports that flooring comes from China and has higher formaldehyde levels than is deemed safe. Now there’s concern, because The National Cancer Institute says there could be a link between the compound and certain cancers.

“Lumber Liquidators” says the flooring it sells is safe.

There are at least seven “Lumber Liquidators” stores right here in Connecticut.
