STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A body has been found in Stratford and police say they believe it is missing Bridgeport woman Minnie Lincoln.

She’d been missing since March 27th and now an autopsy will determine whether the remains are hers.

The remains were found dismembered in a marshy area on Watson Boulevard in Stratford Monday. This comes more than a week after the 57-year-old was last seen leaving the Old Timers Club with the building’s owner.

Police say after finding the body they went to question 36-year-old Marcus Jackson again. But, when they arrived, Jackson took his own life.

“Police were knocking on his door and heard a gunshot and found him with what appears to be a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head,” said Bill Kaempffer, Bridgeport Police Dept.

The investigation is not over but police are waiting for the medical examiner’s office to confirm the remains are indeed Lincoln’s.

And they still want to figure out what happened between March 27th and Monday.
