Man Arrested in Connection with Groton Bank Robbery

GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) – An arrest was made Friday in connection to a Groton bank robbery that took place the previous day at the Peoples United Bank’s Super Stop and Shop Branch in the Groton Square Shopping Plaza.

According to officials, a white male had robbed the branch and fled the scene in a grey sedan on Thursday evening. After locating a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s, a man was arrested on unrelated charges.

Timothy J. Foye was charged this morning with robbery of the 2nd degree, larceny of the 3rd degree and breach of peace. Foye will appear in court later today, and his bond is set at $200,000.

The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are expected to be made.
