NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Many people are trying to get in shape this spring, to look and feel better. If you’re one of those people, you probably know how important a healthy diet is. But you may not understand the benefits and strategies behind boosting your metabolism.

According to Lisa Lynn, if you eat healthier and eat less and workout everyday hard/aggressively (think cross fit) to “burn” off more calories than you ate, you won’t gain any weight – right? WRONG!
Our weight loss is affected by more than what we eat or don’t eat. In fact if your over 30 (those under 30 are also being affected) your metabolism has a mind all its own and it takes a different approach to FORCE fat loss and lose weight.
Our metabolisms are affected by Hormones which are directly affected by our “lifestyles” – and if your “stress” levels are high it can be almost impossible to lose weight and EXTREMELY difficult to melt off excess fat especially from the belly, hips and thighs.
We need to look at the WHOLE picture when it comes to stress not just emotionally, but also physically (ex: how hard you work out or over train for your body) combine that with starving yourself of the RIGHT NUTRIENTS and your metabolism slows down to a screeching halt!
