STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Stamford man accused of beating his mother to death late in March is now charged with murder.
Timothy Anderson, 42, was originally charged with first-degree assault of an elderly person, first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, and disorderly conduct after police say he punched 76-year-old Maryanne Anderson in the face multiple times on March 23. She had to have a portion of her skull removed to relieve pressure on her brain, but died from her injures on March 26.

Police say Anderson attacked his mother at her Sleepy Hollow Lane home after she and his brother confronted him about not taking medications.
Anderson is being held on $500,000 bond. He’s due back in court on May 6.
