STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Stamford man accused of beating his mother to death late in March is now charged with murder.

Timothy Anderson, 42, was originally charged with first-degree assault of an elderly person, first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, and disorderly conduct after police say he punched 76-year-old Maryanne Anderson in the face multiple times on March 23. She had to have a portion of her skull removed to relieve pressure on her brain, but died from her injures on March 26.
