Sterling woman arrested after heroin found during traffic stop

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Sterling woman was arrested in Plainfield Friday evening after police say a traffic stop turned up baggies that tested positive for the presence of heroin.

According to police, 23-year-old Billiejo Gallup and her two passengers seemed extremely nervous after being pulled over for failure to maintain proper lane position. They say the 18 baggies and other drug paraphernalia were found after Gallup consented to a search of the pickup truck.

The Valley View Road woman is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain proper lane position. She was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on May 18.
