Shots fired, man hurt with hammer in West Haven home invasion

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–West Haven police are investigating a home invasion where shots were fired and one person was injured Saturday night.

Police say just before midnight, they responded to 109 Boston Post Road to a home invasion. Gun shots were fired outside the home and the door was forced open.

A male victim, in his early twenties, was also struck with a hammer. The victim was treated and released from an area hospital with a head injury.

Police the incident is under investigation and detectives are tracking down the suspects.
