Car crash into pole closes Route 66 in Portland

PORTLAND, Conn. (WTNH)– Route 66 is closed in both directions in Portland because of wires down from a car hitting a pole.

Police say a earlier this morning, a car struck a utility poll and now wires are down on the road.

The cause of the accident is unknown. There is no word on any injuries.

Route 66 at Route 17 is expected to be closed for most of the day.
