BERLIN, Conn. (WTNH) — A dog that went missing Sunday after it and its owners were involved in a car accident has been found safe.

Marisa Hill says Gilly jumped out of her parents’ car after it flipped when it was rear-ended on the Berlin Turnpike. She says her parents weren’t injured, but losing Gilly devastated them.

According to animal control, the dog was found around 11 a.m. Tuesday in a vacant building less than a half-mile from the accident scene. Hill’s parents and Gilly have since been reunited.
