ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH) — At least two Ansonia teenagers beat a man and stole his money and cell phone Saturday night, police say.
The 45-year-old Ansonia man was sitting in Liberty Park around 8:30 p.m. when he says he was attacked after refusing to give a group of young males money. Officers found him in the parking lot of Daily Mart on North Main Street.
Officials say the victim suffered facial wounds and cuts along with puncture wounds to his arms and upper torso. They say he was taken to Griffin Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
According to police, the victim was able to identify two of the attackers. A 14-year-old and 17-year-old are both charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and second-degree larceny. Both are scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Waterbury on May 22.
