WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterford police are recognizing a good deed done by a local 8-year-old who found a wallet and turned it in at police headquarters Wednesday.
Waterford officers posted on their facebook page that 8-year-old Giovanni Facchini came to the police department to turn in a wallet he found on Route 1. Police said the wallet contained several personal effects, credit cards, and $355 in cash.
According to Waterford police, Giovanni and his father attempted to find the owner of the wallet themselves, but when they were unsuccessful, they brought the wallet to the authorities. Officers said they spoke with Giovanni about the good job he did, and how his actions mean a lot to the person that lost the wallet.
Waterford police summed up the story best when they wrote on their facebook page,
Great job Giovanni, we love that Waterford is filled with good kids like you!
