GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — One person has been rushed to the hospital following a fire at a home in Guilford, the town’s first selectman says. The flames broke out at a house on Long Hill Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Joseph Mazza says a female has been taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The extent of her injuries and her condition are not known.

The state fire marshal is en route to the single-family, two-story house at 2053 Long Hill Road and will be there all night. Police are on scene as well and have taped the house off.
