Bank robbed in Avon

AVON, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Avon are looking for a man who robbed the TD Bank on West Main Street Sunday.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Police say the man showed a black handgun and demanded cash. He was wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, and a baseball hat. The man’s face was covered with a dark colored bandana. Police say he left the scene in what was described as “an unusual looking,” top heavy black SUV.

No one was hurt, no word on how much money the man got away with.
